Many mattresses are promoted with cooling foams, cooling gels and cooling fabrics. But after more than 10 years building mattresses, we’ve learned something important.
Most people don’t actually want a cold mattress.
They just don’t want a hot one.
The goal is not to feel cold while you sleep. The goal is to stay comfortable throughout the night.
The Hidden Detail That Makes a Difference
One of the small details that can affect comfort is something most people never see — the internal stocking.
This sits between the foam and the mattress cover, helping the cover move more freely over the foam and allowing the comfort layers to perform as intended.
For years, we used polyester stocking, like much of the mattress industry. Then we tried cotton.
At first, we noticed the mattress simply felt better. The cover moved more naturally, the comfort layers felt less restricted, and the mattress had a more responsive feel when changing position.
Over time, we also noticed less heat build-up during the night.
Not Cold.
Not Hot.
Just Comfortable.
